Guest Pagemakers Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 (edited) If like me you want GPRS to stay permanently connected, even after pressing the red end key to lock the phone: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\(GPRS connection name)\AlwaysOn Just change it from 0 to 1. Guest Pondrew Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 Interesting. Same as on the I-Mate Jasjar. Good to see Windows Mobile 5 tweaks are consistant between Pocket PC Phone and Smartphone devices... ...topic pinned.
Guest Pagemakers Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Sadly, it's not all good news. If you want to use your phone as a modem, keeping it permanently connected prevents this. The modem tries to dial up and the connection tries to re-connect and so on and so on. Also if you had a bad GPRS connection there is no way to terminate the connection (holding the home key doe not bring up a menu), so you have to go into flight mode and back again. This is obviously not the way the previous shell orange tweak worked ;)
