Guest [sYn] Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Firstly I would like to give a *wave* to everyone, I found this place while googling around trying to figure out how to install my own text notifications and themes, this place gave me most of the answers I needed so thanks to those people who (without knowing) helped :)! While reading around the site about the XDA I noticed a lot of talk about the "corporate install" of the phone, people stating it ran faster and with more stability. Now I have installed twice (since getting the phone this morning) and as far as I can tell the O2 applications have never ran on either install, there is no O2 icon on the task bar and I have a generic WM today screen (although I do have a connections manager in the lower right hand corner). The applications are still on the phone, they just dont appear to run by default, and when I try to manually run the "o2aui" nothing appears to happen.. is there something I am missing here? Just to note, when I install I get the corporate option and the basic option, nothing else. Has the rom been updated and changed since the release, have they walked away from the o2active UI? Any thoughts on this would be great, maybe Im just being stupid :)!
Guest [sYn] Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I'm a bad bad man.. this is in the wrong forum! Very sorry, please move to the correct place :) (that would explain why i couldnt find any information on the XDA mini haha..).. thanks
Guest Confucious Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 There were 3 install options - how are you trying to re-install? A hard reset or just from the Icons in Program manager? If you do a hard reset do you get all 3 options? My Universal only gives basic and corporate from the icon but then I chose corporate from the initial boot. As the only difference is the settings I assume (possibly wrongly) that If I did a hard reset (I did one recently but took no notice :) ) that it would load the extended ROM with O2 Active etc then.
Guest [sYn] Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 If I use the icon or hard reset I still only get the 2 options, I only got 2 the first time I turned the phone on this morning. I believe it is still installing the extended rom, its simply not initialising the UI.. Not that I mind, things seem to be working wonderfully.. now that I've overclocked it anyway :)
