want to send a file from my phone to anoth via bluetooth, but when i hold my pen over the file i want to transfer, i get 'beem file' and 'send via e-mail', i need access to a 'send via bluetooth' which isn't there. Is there a way to get this function enabled on the phone?

I tried installing binarys smart explorer to which my phone responds with 'the file "\windows\appmgr\install\binarys - smart explorer en.cab" is not a valid windows ce setup file.'

Well, the SPV M1000 is a Pocket PC Phone rather then a Smartphone. i wouldn't be surprised if the installation problem you're having is because you're trying to install software not intended for the device (ie Smartphone software).

Moved to Pocket PC Phone section...

Based on my experience with Windows Mobile for Pocket PC and sending files via bluetooth:

- ensure bluetooth is on on both devices

- ensure you have paired with the device you are sending to

- if the receiving device is Windows Mobile based ensure it accepts incoming beams

- in file explorer on your M1000 select the file you want to send by holding the stylus on it and choose beam file

- even though it appears to only be searching for infra-red connections it should see bluetooth devices

- select the bluetooth device to begin sending (you may have to choose to accept file on the receiving device)

Let us know if you have any trouble :)

I have a problem. I have the SPV M500 - and apparently according to other bluetooth devices, mine has no name. How do I set the bluetooth name?

Thanks, Chris
