Guest vk2003 Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Hope it isn't against the rules to cross post, but put this is the general smartphone forum before realising it was probably better in here: Have just bought a B Grade SP5 from Expansys. Was advertised as being just opened and returned - in other words the previous purchaser bought it, opened the box, started the phone up, and then returned it as was explained to me on the phone. Anyways... the phone is in short Unreliable, and seems to crash all the time. Actvate WiFi, and it bins. Enter the menu system and it bins. Open PIE, and yep, it bins. So... have I just bought a Dodo, or could it be the sim I am using? I have a new Sim from O2, which was sent to me this week, along with a Motorola RAZR *spit* I never had any intention of using the latter, as it simply came with the deal, but could it be that this sim is not designed for this sort of phone (I remember having a similar problem some years ago on Orange when I had the wrong sim "profile" for the phone) Am still within the returns period so could just send it back, stop being a tight wad and buy a new one :-) Any advice? TIA
Guest ljames28 Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Modern phones unless its an old sim i would doubt it to be sim compatiblity issues. I would say if its possible to upgrade/wipe the rom do so, if not send it back.
Guest vk2003 Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Have just done a hard reset, and the phone is hanging at every screen. One of things I was getting before the hard reset was when left, the screen would switch off, but I could not bring the phone back to life - the little led in the left speaker grill would still flash but no other signs of life. Looks like it is going back unless anyone else has any advice, but my feeling is this phone is a goner
