Guest tamginelli Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) ....Im getting one tomorrow :) Have been a long time Sony Ericson P series user/fan, but have got bored with it after 800/900/910! Had a SPV C500 but wasn that impressed so went back to the P900. Really lookin forward to using the Mini as the sysnchronisation of the C500 was perfect....something that the Pseries never ever came close to! Can anyone tell me what exactly IS the XDA Mini? Pocket PC or Smartphone? Is there any difference between PPC & SP, or are they one and the same thing? Im looking in the wrong places it seems for software and apps... cant really find that much! Any help would be appreciated! Cheers , TG PS Hope Ive posted this in the right bit!!! Edited June 4, 2006 by tamginelli
Guest Pondrew Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Hey there. :) Welcome to the Pocket PC camp, as that is what the XDA Mini is. That is as opposed to the Smartphone platform which your old SPV C500 was (Smartphone doesn't have touchscreen and won't usually run Pocket PC software). Now the software you want to look for depends on whether you've got the XDA Mini (based on the HTC Magician and never actually released by O2 in the UK) or the XDA Mini S (based on the HTC Wizard and only recently released). If it's the latter then you'll need to make sure the Pocket PC software is Windows Mobile 5 compatible as this newer operating system has some compatibility problems with older software... Enjoy!
