Guest ovidutz22 Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 an if it does...which are the advantages and disadvantages?
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I'm using a MobyMemory own-brand 2gig mini-SD card which I'm very happy with. I'm not sure what advantages you are thinking of apart from increased storage and I don't think there are any disadvantages other than higher price !
Guest pavankp Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I'm using a MobyMemory own-brand 2gig mini-SD card which I'm very happy with. I'm not sure what advantages you are thinking of apart from increased storage and I don't think there are any disadvantages other than higher price ! I am using a 2GB SanDisk card and one disadvantage I see is that from time to time the phone creates a folder called Storage Card when it cannot access this card, and then my applications on the card stop working. I then have to rename the phony Storage Card folder to something else and restart the phone, for things to get back to normal. I read somewhere that this happens with most of the larger cards, if you have your IE cache and email messages and attachments on the storage card. I never had this problem with the SanDisk 256MB card. Of course I love the fact that I no longer have to monitor how much space I have left on my card! Pavan
Guest Tech Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I see no reason why it shouldnt work on a C600 - works fine on a C500 (work mates) Just be sure you get a brand which is known to work with smartphones: Crucial Sandisk KINGSTON does not work.
Guest ovidutz22 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 well then if i caught your attention.... my 2gb minisd sandisk gets my c600 to crash every single time i put it in(i have formated the card with "disk manager" using wm5torage as fat,and also using the internal utility SP.Task.Mgr)...problem description:the handset can't acces files larger than 1mb on the 2gb minisd (mp3,wav rintones,movies..)but it has no problem openning less than 100k jpegs...is my rom(11.1.10.3 romanian) too "stupid" for this 2gb minisd?(also when i try to upgrade to english aku2:11.2.1.5 it says "error[294] invalid vendor id")...on the other hand the old 32mb also sandisk works fine...
Guest peekie Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 i have used a 2gb mini on both my SP5 and M3000 , i did spend the little extra and get the scandisk ultra version as this is a little bit faster mainly for tomtom , but its not really needed :)
Guest ovidutz22 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 i've changed the rom to i-mate sp5,and a hard reset after, and i have the same problem...handset crashes when i try to open a file from the 2gb sandisk minisd... :) somebody help me !!!

Guest BeerLover Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 So, what was the verdict .. does the 2Gb work fine on a C600 .... anybody recommend the best one to get from mobymemory? I have the verdict... Have had a 2gb sandisk from moby memory in my C600 for months now. (who needs an ipod!) :) I do not remember ever having a single problem with it, apart from running out of free space! Hope this helps :)
Guest xda_gangsta Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 2 gigs will work, even 4 gb will work as far as I know, speaking of which I might have to upgrade to 4 :)
