Guest thelmufifnman32 Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Anyone know of an app that will allow me to use my smartphone as a universal remote?
Guest Tech Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 please do a forum search, there are loads of topics about this :) you will see for yourself :)
Guest ChoppedG Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 please do a forum search, there are loads of topics about this :) you will see for yourself :) Hey datz not entirely true about ir beung to weak on the spv c500 i have a imate sp3 which is basically the same ok my point is i was playing around i went to contacts went to beam contact pointed at my my tv from across the room then bam my tv picked it the was a red light led flashingt back once the phone was pointed towards the tv so i dont jnow the reason for there not being a ir tv remote for smartphone oh and i noticed the light flashed like 3 times the a pause then again so the ir is strong actualy stronger than symbian nokia s60 ;)
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Sorry, looks like somebody stole all your punctuation Here, have some of mine: ,,,,,, ......
Guest Tech Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 (edited) ^ bawahaha and choppedG what you said (barely readable) is a complete false statement im afraid. many developers took months and years to figure such things out and the way hardware is made and the ROM drivers etc... - not everything goes the way you would assume or want. my 2 cents have a nice day! Guest conan_troutman Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 well I got it installed on my qtek 8310 and it works .... mind you it only worked for one button press then froze my phone and from about 3 inch from the dvd player...but it did work
Guest mini_man Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Sorry but did you say it worked! thts incredible! I thought i was impossible! Im going to try this now :)
Guest mini_man Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 hmm its just frozen? I told it to learn and now its not doing anything and not reponding?
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 yeah it freezes when it hsa to learn but on devices it already know it does work for one button press I got the dvd player to pause then my phone froze and i was close enough to actually press buttons on the player its self but it did work so wh ever made this needs to keep at it
Guest mini_man Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 well its actually the i300 remote app hense why its been taken off due to copyright rules. I guess the hardwares different but for you to actually get it to do something is really a major leap! I dont have any of those branded devices on that list so unfortunatley i couldnt do anything! Hopefully we will see a universal remote soon! Sam
Guest mini_man Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 oo :) Im doing so much cool stuff with my smartphone today! Really Really want an app with remote functions :) Im definetly up for beta testing if you are going limit places with applications ;) an excited nearly 15 sam :D
Guest Tech Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 yeh but you've gotta remember that the manufacturers of the devices can sometimes be plain stupid on not providing the specific functions required to do the "coolness" of things. *looks in the direction of imate*
Guest mini_man Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 mm yeh. Good luck with this remote app though :) looking forward too it!!
Guest Silent.knight Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 Looking forward to it... Less so after recieving my 2Gb minisd card and putting Sin City and Goldmember on it :)
Guest coldwave87 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I noticed that all windows mobile devices, even with PPC like Qtek 9100 with Ti OMAP 850 200 Mhz processor will not be able to use remote control softwares. Samsung i300 uses Intel Bulveder 400 Mhz which is the same as in i-mate jam and many others, therefore remote control can be used on it.
Guest Symbionik Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 It's not about the procesor , it's about the hardware (infrared port). The manufacterors (sp?) didn't include specifications on how the iR hardware in our smartphones work.
