Guest Potatohead Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Hi All, unless someone has already beaten me to the punch, I thought I would share my success with Y'all after finally managing to Re-Flash my AKU2 Orange C600 with my Imate Rom i-ate_SP5_NRE_1.5.333.0. :) Big Thanks go to the Orange SPV delvelopers site for issuing the orange unlock tool, And big thanks to Rannochs Post of 28/05/06 for giving me the missing link by way of a Pc Based Reg Edit & RAPI Tool. My Process was as follows: 1) Orange Unlock Tool: Emailed orange at ([email protected]) with a polite request for the De-Cert/App unlock tool for the latest AKU2 Rom, explaining the problems i'd been having running various Apps & Tweaking my phone. This tool is specific to the IMEI so you will need to supply the following Information on your email: >My IMEI Number is - >Full name - >The Mobile Number of the SPV to be unlocked - +44?????????? >Daytime Contact Number - +44?????????? >Daytime email address - Received the tool straight away the next day. Ran the orange unlock tool which loads an application in the "Accesories" Folder on your handset. Selected Disabled (Low) Security Level. 2) RAPI Config. Ran RAPI Config Tool Found Here (Thanks Rannocks & Breaksoft) RapiConfig.exe: http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Posts/2005/8...Editor_FAQ.aspx 3) RegEdit Using Pc Based Regedit tool Found here (Thanks Rannocks & Breaksoft...again) http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/20...try_Editor.aspx Made the following standard registry changes: HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 => change value to => 1 (mine already set to 1 after Orange unlock) (RAPI)HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 => change value to = > 40 4) Application Unlock Then our old favorite SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe on the PC with the phone attached to the USB port and click Unlock in the application. Unlock Successful. Restart the phone 5) CID & SIM Unlock Second favorite - Run the SPVServices tool to Sim unlock and Change CID. All successful 6) Re-Flash Re Flashed my C600 with Imate Rom i-mate_SP5_NRE_1.5.333.0. All completely successful on my C600 handset. From Orange AKU2 with no regedit, to fully unlocked Imate Rom running Dual SIM. I tried the latest Imate rom but it gave me connectivity issues with TomTom Mobile 5 so i switched back until i find a patch. Hope this is of some help to any who became as frustrated as me. Let me know if you have similar success so that i know mine wasn't just a freak one-off. :)
Guest vk2003 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Awesome Do you know whether this will work on the new PAYG C600 which are around? I heard mentioned that the rom on these had not been cracked yet... Guest Romano2K Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Hi ! First post on this forum I think (already had my account, don't know from where)... I wish I could try one or more roms on my french Orange SPV C600, such as iMate or Qtek roms, so that I can get rid off the Orange personalisation. I read everywhere that since February 2006, the Orange phones need to be application unlocked, the registry tweak seems not to work anymore. And then I find your thread. Thank you ! My questions are : - how can I be sure that I'll be able to come back to my Orange rom (r2sd solution, rom update software, ...) ? - can I write to the address you gave to get my FRENCH spv unlocked ? Thank you in advance ! :)
Guest Potatohead Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Hi, Just seen your questions. - how can I be sure that I'll be able to come back to my Orange rom (r2sd solution, rom update software, ...) ? Download the orange Upate ROM first. Once the phone is unlocked and you have the imate rom on it, you can do the basic Re-Flash Routine with just the CID Change App unlock etc to reinstall the orange ROM. Once you put the orange Update ROM back on you will be locked up to the eyeballs again though and will have to start again with the Orange Security tool to get away from the Orange ROM Again. So Don't delete it once you receive it from orange. If have been back and forth once to the orange ROM as a test and had no problems. - can I write to the address you gave to get my FRENCH spv unlocked ? It's a .com address so i assume its not just restricted to UK. The unlock tool is based on the IMEI Number of the phone so they should be able to help you quite easily regardless of which language version your phone is running. Give em a try, if you explain carefully what you are after they are generally quite helpful.
Guest chocobogo Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Great post, however I have a couple of questions that it would be great if you could answer. I am trying to get my new c600 in a stable state before I start installing apps on it etc, and I was just wondering what the difference is between the (1) Orange Unlock tool and the (4) Application Unlock tool you talk about in your post? Also could you let me know the significance of steps 2 & 3 as I am not clear what these steps do. Many thanks
Guest Cenobite_ Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Wow! This actually worked for my C600 AKU2 Orange rom. Thnx dude! FYI, I followed step 1 through 4. Finally I can use the WM5Storage app. :)
Guest Potatohead Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Great post, however I have a couple of questions that it would be great if you could answer. Many thanks The orange unlock tool removes the additional security measures they placed on the AKU2 ROM The Application unlock allows you to run unverified 3rd party applications. 2) RAPI stands for "Remote Application Programming Interface". RAPI is installed with ActiveSync and it allows desktop applications to communicate with a Smartphone or Pocket PC. it attempts to enable RAPI to release any security to allow you to access the registry. It may not be needed but i didn't try it without that step. 3) The RegEdit allows you to change the registry keys to alter the security policy which will allow Application unlock to Run. Hope this helps, if anyone else has any clearer explanation than i can offer please feel free.

Guest Wayne_Mobile Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I tried the latest Imate rom but it gave me connectivity issues with TomTom Mobile 5 so i switched back until i find a patch.Could you possibly tell me which ROM and from where you are currently running at the moment? I have a C600 and updated to the latest ROM released a few days ago and it has killed my TomTom Mobile. I'm just trying to find something, anything, that I can flash it with that will get my TomTom working again. Thanks

Guest leoiden Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 people you have to understand, that the only route is getting the specific security appl from orangedevelopers,no other way stop asking of another way!PEACE
