Guest Pagemakers Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Anybody else started to have problems sending email with t-mobile? Both my phone and my mates will not send email. If I disconnect from T-Mobile and connect to wifi it sends fine. Problem only started today.
Guest Stabilo Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Anybody else started to have problems sending email with t-mobile? Both my phone and my mates will not send email. If I disconnect from T-Mobile and connect to wifi it sends fine. Problem only started today. Working ok for me.
Guest sporkguy Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 been working flawlessly for me since day 1.
Guest Pondrew Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Pagemakers, you using smtp.t-email.co.uk for your outgoing mail? Because emails sent through T-Mobile not using this address will be blocked. Having said that, this isn't anything new...
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Hi no. I have never used that SMTP server I have always used my own severs SMTP and until yesterday it worked fine. However, that said even using smtp.t-email.co.uk does not work for me. The second I disconnect from T-mobile and go wifi, the email is sent. I have spoken to T-Mobile and they said a handful of people have reported exactly the same issue yesterday.
Guest Pondrew Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Interesting. Maybe the problem I had sending emails which required me to change to the t-mobile smtp only applies to certain providers email services (mine was Blueyonder)... So you waiting for technical support?
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Yes. can you send emails using tmobile today?
Guest Pondrew Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Apparently not although don't know if it's the same problem as you... It's sitting on the 'Logging on...' message <_< Gonna reset and try again... EDIT: Grrr. On resetting the email had disappeared. Not in sent items nor drafts nor outbox. It's either sent succesfully or it's been lost in the reset...
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Pondrew - That's all it does is say 'logging on'. Please let me know if it starts to work for you.
Guest Pondrew Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Will do. The email didn't arrive so resetting during the logging on process obviously caused it to be lost. Glad it was just a test email!
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Mine is working using my ISPs SMTP service over T-Mobile GPRS Never tried the T-Mobile SMTP service, but I remember Orange's being so poor that I quickly gave up on it.
Guest Pondrew Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Mine is working fine now as I've informed Pagemakers. Just needed a reset. Unfortunately his is apparently still causing problems...
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I think I will go into my local shop and try a different sim. Definitely can't send email here.
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Just spent 30 minutes on the line with tech support and he said my problem was I was connecting to 3G and it was impossible to send email through the 3G network - it was for data only! Holy s*** - The pain hurts!!
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 :) Tell them you converted the email to binary before you sent it, and it still doesn't work
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Just been into the Trafford Centre shop. Neither my sim or theirs in my device or theirs would send email!!
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 (edited) Still can't send email through the T-Mobile network. I have spent days on the phone to tech support to resolve this matter and then this morning they called me and said yes they do have a problem and now lots of other people are reporting the same fault. Those of you who can send email please can you answer the following questions: 1) Are you using standard smtp/pop servers and not sending your email by Exchange? 2) Are you using T-Mobile smtp server (smtp.t-email.co.uk) or something else? 3) Are you on the Web 'n Walk Pro tariff? And if you have answered yes to 1 & 3 above please can you confirm where in the UK you are. Then I'll pass this info on to T-Mobile to assist them in troubleshooting. Guest Pondrew Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Can send email fine (just sent a test one to be sure). I'm: 1) Using standard SMTP/POP servers 2) Using T-Mobile smtp server smtp.t-email.co.uk 3) Using old Web N Walk 40mb tariff NOT Web N Walk Pro
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 (edited) I am still having problems send email with Tmobile. Their high level Tech Support have confirmed to me that they have a big problem with their and other SMTP servers at the moment and their email sending facility is intermittent. They do not have a 'resolve date' yet, but they anticipate a fix by 'the end of the year'. For me I can send emails on only about 20% of the time, if that. Time to maybe crawl back to Orange me thinks :) Edited July 18, 2006 by Pagemakers
Guest Pagemakers Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 After 3 months and about 50 calls to tmobile I finally discovered why I was having email sending problems with tmobile. Our email servers are protected by bl.spamcop.net MAPS spam service and tmobile's IP addresses are listed and blocked by bl.spamcop.net. Now the IPs have been removed from their database, email once again sends correctly.
