Original ORA Fabric Keyboard - Driver needed!

Recommended Posts

I really need a driver for the original ORA fabric keyboard for an E200 (dad's using it for TomTom)

This was the original keyboard released, which fitted the none mini-usb early smartphones, basically the SPV, E100 and E200.

Would anyone happen to know where I can get this, as the manufacturers website, and orange don't seem to provide it anymore.

I realise this may be seen as asking for software, but it was free and available to download before, and Paul (MVP) has OK'd it.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

There's this, which looks not unlike the SPV keyboard (it was a Bluetooth one wasn't it, or is my memory failing faster than I thought :) )... See HERE for all the gory details....

HTH,

Mark.

Thanks a lot for your help, but no, this was a keyboard with a cradle. Not the newer bluetooth one. Thanks anyway.

Ditto.... everything but what I need! Doh.

I believe it was included in a certain E100 firmware yes, and available on Orange Update for a bit. I want to use the keyboard with an E200 though, which kills the firmware option, and Orange have since removed it from OU

TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

keyboard.zip

i think you must be running the latest firmware

You are an absolute legend James. For a start I'm massively more confident as I seem to remember having a keyboard.cab file about before!! Should be able to try it when I get the phone off my dad tonight! Thanks a lot, and I'll post how I get on. If it works - it needs adding to downloads me thinks ;)

Thanks all!

Damn it :)

For a start its definately the right driver, and exactly how i remembed it.

Installed, rebooted, plugged in keyboard, and its detected straight away, but no key presses :) I guess they never worked with E200s? ;)

EDIT: right, I've found this page: http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:5Cogvb-...uk&ct=clnk&cd=4

which seems to confirm that it doesnt work on E200s without a special driver. Unfortunately PPCW.net appears to have gone, along with the driver.

Any ideas (Sorry to be a pain :D )

sorry, no other clues here... was a right old blast form the distant past :)

PPCW.net just got renamed to unwired.net - HERE's the article you wanted, unfortunately the download link from the article doesn't seem to work...:)

EDIT: Another link HERE, it seem's the driver was only released at ppcw.net all other sites mentioning the driver link there, but they don't seem to have a downloads section anymore...

Just read below, yeah that'd be good Paul - see if he still has a copy somewhere!

EDIT 2: There's a driver HERE on coolsmartphone, not sure if it's the e200 one though, but it's worth a go..

Hehe - definately. I could date it - it was won from Modaco with an E100 god knows how long ago in one of the first compos. Thanks for your help James.

Hmm.. Can't get that to load on Firefox, so I'll try it on Internet Explorer if Paul/Arne have no luck!

That would be great if you would Paul. It does seem to have only been released to them for some reason. I had no idea the site was just rebranded - its completely different :) Thanks.

Now is good, it's the::unwired for more than one year now already... :)

Anyway, attached is the driver everybody is referring to. ;)

In case it isn't working - I don't have another, this is the only one I have... :)

It works!!

YAYA! Works fine after a reboot. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me. The ancient keyboard and the ancient E200 is now working fine :)

By the way, the reason I wanted it, was because my dad struggles with text typing - and wants to use it with TomTom - which works fine by the way!

I'm gonna guard the driver with my life now - but may I request it gets added to the download section here?

Thanks everyone!
