Guest Hydark Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 I havnt recieved my SDA yet, but I've read about some problems about messaging and ect...While switching over to the ATT/Cinguar network. I have a few more questions as well, like how is the service with cingular and any info on this phone working with my network will be greatly appreciated.

If not, you will need to unlock it to use it with Cingular. You will also need to change a few settings for GPRS, text messaging, etc., but all these changes are possible and documented here on Modaco. So you can get it working with AT&T/Cingular. Pavan
Guest Hydark Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 It will be unlocked. But it can work perfectly with cingular/att with any faults? I dont use the TXT, or Mmode anyways so does that mean I dont have to configure it?

(If you have an old, old SIM card from AT&T you might have to exchange that for a newer Cingular SIM card, which any Cingular store should be able to do for free.) If you use your phone ONLY for phone calls, you are good to go. But if you want to use the cool features of your SDA like browsing the internet or listening to live internet radio stations on the go, then you would have to configure your GPRS connection properly. And it's not really all that difficult. If you are lucky, you should be able to find a CAB file which you just need to install on your phone and the settings will all be done for you. Pavan
Guest pavankp Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) where would I get this CAB file? It should be somewhere on the i-mate web site. www.club-imate.com. There is a post on MoDaCo that has all these settings, in the Smartphone Settings Repository forum. http://www.modaco.com/Cingular-USA-t200969.html. Edited June 11, 2006 by pavankp

OK I just had to do a hard reset on my phone, so I dug up the Cingular settings CAB file. Though you might find it useful. Cingular_USA_SP_V1.1.CAB Pavan
