The games you have are Java games. One easy way I know to install them is:

1. Using ActiveSync, copy the JAR and JAD files to My Documents\My Midlets (on the phone, not the card)

2. Open the Java Midlet Manager on your phone.

3. Go to Menu->Install->Local. You should see the names of the games (JAD files) you copied.

4. Now you can install them on the phone one by one, using Menu->Install.

5. Enjoy!

If you are keen on installing on the storage card, the process is a little more laborious. First you have to install an alternative Java Midlet Manager. It looks like the standard one does not let you install on the storage card. You can find information about how to install J9 on my post in a different thread here.

Once you have J9 installed properly, the steps are:

1. Using ActiveSync, copy the JAR and JAD files to \Storage Card\My Documents\My Midlets

2. Open the J9 emulator.exe on your phone. You can do this by browsing to the folder where you installed J9 and going to the bin folder there.

3. Push the left soft-key, Install.

4. For URL, enter the following exactly as shown (EXCEPT, replace "xyz.jad" with your own jad file name)

/Storage Card/My Documents/My Midlets/xyz.jad
If you get an invalid URL error at this stage (it should not happen, but just in case), try a more complicated URL like this:
/Storage%20Card/My%20Documents/My%20Midlets/xyz.jad

5. Follow the on-screen prompts to install your game.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each game you want to install.

7. Enjoy!

I don't think it's possible to show them under Games folder. But you can see all your games under the Java Midlet Manager (the standard one that shipped with your device or IBM J9, which ever you choose to use).

Are you able to sync your phone with your PC using ActiveSync? If yes, connect up your phone. Then look at ActiveSync on the PC, on top there will be an Explore button. Click that, it will open Windows Explorer with your phone's folders showing. Then you can navigate to Storage Card->My Documents, etc. If "nothing is happening" it could mean that your ActiveSync connection is not active.

yes, i was able to do that, but now, when i try to paste something to storagecard/documents or my midgets, whatever, there is nothing happening, what u think might be the problem? before i was able to paste stuff but now not

I think your ActiveSync connection is probably not alive. Does ActiveSync on the PC say Connected when you are trying this? In Windows Explorer when you are in folder \Storage Card, try hitting Refresh (F5) -- if the contents disappear, then ActiveSync is not active for some reason. Try reconnecting after rebooting your phone -- that's the only thing I can think of.

nope, it didn't fix it, and the active sync is fully connected, thats strange, right after i click paste, just nothing happening

That's strange. Let's do a few tests to isolate the problem. Is this a problem only with JAD/JAR files? Are you able to copy other files, say TXT files to the same folder?

Or is it a problem with the folder? Can you try copying to the phone, not storage card?

If ActiveSync doesn't work, you can try copying with IR and then moving the files using the File Manager on the phone.

This has something to do with the conversion settings for ActiveSync. On your desktop ActiveSync, have a look at Tools->Advanced Tools->Edit File Conversion Settings. What do you have in there? Under General, you should have the checkbox for conversion checked I think. Also look under Desktop to Device.

Your Cingular 2125 has an infrared thing on top, near the power button. When you got your phone, it would have had a polythene screen-protector kind of thing on it. On your desktop, you should have a similar looking IR thingy as well. Once you find both, just line them up -- put your phone in front of the computer's IR thing. Keep the phone a couple of inches away from your computer. The computer will find your phone and say something like, "another computer is nearby, click here to send files to WM_xxxx". (I am assuming your computer is Windows XP -- otherwise the behavior may be different). Once you click it, it will show a little icon on your tray which you need to click. Then you can send files to your phone using this IR link.

i can't get the ir to work, and on the setting, in general the box is checked, i tried either way, and in desktop to device it asks convert from what file to what and there is only like 6 different file formats

You're welcome :). I hope the installation goes smoothly, after all these initial hiccups!

Enjoy your games :).

PS: I still don't understand why the JAR/JAD files won't get copied over by themselves. One thing I've learnt about this platform is that you just have to keep trying different things to get stuff to work ;).

yeah, aparently it does not accept jar jad file, but stuff like zip or cab, do you anyplace where i can get jar and jad games?

Yeah, I find that strange because on my computer and phone, I can copy JAR and JAD files.

I am not much into games, so I don't know where to find them...

I've got a Samsung I750 running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, I'm running into a similar problem. I can load a jad or a jar or a zip onto the device, using ActiveSync. When I try to open any of these files from the phones file browser it says :

There is no application assoicated with "filename, but no 3 letter extension" Run the application first, then open the file from within the application.

If your phone has a Java Virtual Machine then it should have an application that manages Java games/apss, use that to run stuff.

Windows Mobile doesnt come with any software to open zip files. Unzip them on your computer and then copy over the contents.

Upon further investigation it appears the phone has no JVM. When I tried to download Opera it recognized the handset as some model I'd never heard of, but told me it doesn't support java. Opera lets you pick a version to download anyway, when I downloaded the jad the phone did nothing with it, it just let me download the file.
