Guest dmyerks Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I connect the SDA via USB and I get a USB Device Not Recognized. It connected up fine a few days ago when I first got the phone and now nothing. I did a system restore, un-installed and re-installed activesync, did a factory reset on the sda, and still nothing. I've also disabled my firewall and can't find any other info. I think it might have something to do with the driver...when I go to the device manager and click on the unknown device it says it's enabled but does not have a driver. I've searched on the T-mobile website, CD that was included, Microsoft, can't find any drivers that might work. Please help. I've got a T-mobile SDA (US) and a Dell Inspiron running Windows XP. I've got all the latest XP updates, Active sync installed, firewall disabled, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave

Guest pavankp Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I'm using Activesync 4.1 any thoughts??? That's a version that should work. I am out of ideas on this one, considering you've already done system restores and a hard reset! May be you should get hold of a buddy's phone and try connecting that. That way you can try to isolate the problem -- whether it's with your phone or the computer.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Does it charge from the wall charger OK? Do you have a pet that may have chewed the USB cable? Richard.
Guest Sp00k Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) If this problem is caused by an Active Sync compatibility problem, as opposed to a phone or cable fault, then this may provide a solution... USB Killer I believe that it'll work on all WM5 phones, although I can't vouch for that fact. I use it with a Wizard that totally refused to see Active Sync at all, with total success... This looks like a PPC application -- you may need a fake cursor to use it effectively on the smartphone...
