Guest tranzee Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I have been a Orange SPV C500 SmartPhone user for more than a year. It is a great phone as it does what is written on the tin. By having such a positive experience, I have switched to Vodafone because of some business reasons. And, I have a new Vodafone v1240 Smartphone. Wi-Fi, HiRes camera, bigger screen, so you might expect more from a v1240. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I have spent a whole day installing/uninstalling ActiveSynch on a brand new laptop and trying to connect the laptop to the v1240. It is a total failure. My old SPV works even with the Vodafone's SW. But, v1240 is totally deaf (I lied, it charges through USB at least.) Does anyone knows any solution? Thanks, -T

Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) Uninstall ActiveSync 4.0 and download 4.1 (or the 4.2 beta) - there were issues with ActiveSync 4 which shipped with most older Windows Mobile 5 devices.. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/dow...tivesync41.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/dow...tivesync42.mspx This has notthing to do with the Vodafone devices - its a Microsoft issue with the way ActiveSync uses USB to connect to your device. Please post your findings m@ Thanks a lot, Currently, I am using version 4.1.0(Build 4841) comes with Vodafone v1240 companion disc. Interestingly my SPV C500 works with it without a problem, but v1240 does not!! I will give a try for 4.2 Beta.

This application blocked the link, it caused some other problems on the laptop for printers as well. My IT angels re-installed and configured the application. The, everything has started working like a clockwork. Regards, -T
