Guest mandt Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Hi, Can anyone recommend some good quality screen protectors for the vario, preferably from personal experience? Up to now I have been using the free one that came with it but it's time to change it for something better. The thing is they ain't cheap so I thought I'd ask your advice before I part with my hard earned readies! Cheers guys

Guest bedroomboy Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 How on earth do you get those things on anyway without causing a mass of air pockets under them - I bought 2.... I have 1 left and dont want to botch it...
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 There is some advice in an old thread around here somewhere. If I remember correctly: 1. Dont drink any alcohol or coffee for at least an hour before you start 2. Listen to something soothing like whale farts to keep you calm :) 3. Do it in a steamy room (bathroom after a shower is ideal) 4. Give your screen a good clean and make sure there are no specs of dirt at all on it 5. Stick one corner of the protector to one corner of the screen 6. Gently rub in slowly expaning circles to stick the protector, with a soft dry cloth. Get the air bubbles out as you go. Ones around the edges are easy enough to rub out afterwards, but ones more than 1cm in need dealing with there and then 7. Once applied hold it up to a strong light source to check for dust etc 8. Curse the air bubbles and/or dust and peel it back off 9. Go to step 1

Go to step 1 The vario is quite easy because you can put the protecter under the screen. on my ipaq you had to be exact or one side would be slightly raised on top of the case.
