Exchange Email - What is it?

Hi,

Am seriously considering getting the MDA Pro on T-mobiles unlimited data plan at the moment. If I do this I obviously want to get as much use as possible out of my unlimited data. One of the things which I'd like to get there is push email. However my work do not use Exchange email so I'd have to set up an email account for myself. However I know nothing about exchange email.

Can someone either explain what exchange email is, or point me at a web page which explains it? Is there a simple (and cheap/free!!) way to get an email address which I can use 'push email' with? Does this have to be exchange or can I have 'push email' with a normal POP3 account?

Exchange is Microsoft's corporate email server - if you don't know what it is you haven't got it.

Okay, so forget exchange email.

If I have a standard POP3 email account, can I use 'push email' to get it pushed to my mobile/MDA Pro as soon as it arrives at my POP3 account?
