Is it normal for the phone to say on the Card info. "Unknown"

My MPx220 displays on the Resourse Manager, on the Card Info. details "Unknown", when it doesn't have a card or if he has a card on the slot. It's that ok? I also have tried putting on a mini SD, and it didn't work at all. I am returning the card, just in case. Still is it normal for the phone to display "Unknown" without a card into the slot?
