Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I'm a little out of touch with the PDA side of things, and I'm going round in circle! Can someone help meeee? I wanna move to T-Mobile for a start, and I've been looking at the Vario and the Pro, as well as the Vario II, and the compact. and a datacard. maybe not. I will use the device mainly for streaming audio (wnw pro)to my car cd player (3.5 jack), mp3's and TomTom Anyway... MDA Pro - Too big, too expensive, looks breakable MDA Vario - Compact, nice looking, has headphones plug. Apparently slow though, and should I wait for a price reduction? MDA Vario II - Out august apparently. Looks better, apparently faster and improved, but no proper headphone plug (and can only charge OR have headphones in). has 3G though... MDA Compact - Looks awful. but cheap. The tariff I'd go for is Flext 35 + WnW as this apparently is classed as WnW Pro on Flext 35 or about (tmobile rep) Any thought or advice for me please?

Can you provide a link confirming this info MARKUKCOUK as it slipped by me. Oh, I'm not sure how I can help your dilemma. I would say the Vario has been around a good long while now so it's probably not gonna get much cheaper til it's discontinued at which point it'll be too late. What makes the MDA Compact II ugly? Granted it's not as nice to look at as the new HTC Prophet in black. It's a pretty capable device though and at a bargain price...

I just don't think it looks as nice as the vario.... whats the speed like etc. To be honest, other than the headphone issue, it would be the vario II. I'm not sure on a link, but yeah - the headphones plug into the USB port, which is not only useless as I've only got a standard 3.5 jack plug, but also because when listening to mp3s/radio - I need it to be charging as well as having headphones on Links: http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=2975 http://www.theunwired.net/photo/index.php?...ge=DSCN0044.jpg This is an adapter for a V3 series... (its similar but NOT the same). I'd need one of these - plus a splitter for a charger! If it even lets you have power and headphones connected like that... http://l8shop.net/Products/Stereo_Headphon...otorola_V3.aspx So I think the MDA Pro is a no goer, so really I have a choice of.. MDA Compact II MDA Vario MDA Vario II Go the Vario II is annoying! 3G and everything.. and no sodding headphones plug! :@ When will they make a perfect device! EDIT: The Compact II doesn't have wifi so is no good for me. Vario or Vario II... hmm :/ Edited June 14, 2006 by MARKUKCOUK
Guest Laser_iCE Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Just letting you know, that just like any other headphone jack, the awkward mini-USB will no doubtedly have a headphone jack created for it... Just like the 2.5->3.5 (or whatever the measurements are) jacks you see now, I'm sure we will see mini-USB -> 3.5 .
Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I dont doubt it! But the problem is.. there is 1 Mini-USB thingy (and its not standard btw) In the car, I'll need both a charger and a Headphones plug connected at the same time. :)
