Guest 333hpm3 Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Hey all, Does anyone know if My Nevo software can be installed on a smartphone with WM5.0. Curious as some of the older IPAQ's came with My Nevo installed on them, thus converting them into a universal remote. It would be cool to see if smartphones can do so using IR. A
Guest Tech Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 (edited) well I am doing such a project however I found that the devices created by HTC do not allow communication via serial IR, this is IR which allows you to send data bypassing IRDA so the answer to your question is...no. if you have a motorola or samsung mobile device then yes it would work just a general point of view - why must htc be different and awkward and just pretty much not allow developers to use serial IR? What makes them "special" as any other handset manufacturer allows the developers to program using serial IR. Stupid! :) Edited June 15, 2006 by Tech

You can use your smartphone as a remote control, to control your computer, via infrared, BT, or cable, using Jeyo Remote 2.0. Here is a link: http://www.jeyo.com/remote.asp Good Luck! Hope I could help!
