Guest whazzaa Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 Hi there, after trying to update my 8300 the rom update program crashed wich left my phone waiting at 71% There was nothing left to do and the active sync connection was also broken. Now the phone won't turn on, only if i remove the battery and put it back in the backlight turns on, so i guess i changed a phone into a little flashlight. Are there suggestions how to fix this, or do i have to send the phone back for repair. Cheers Ray

Cheers Ray eep...... this sounds bad but can if you get it into bootloader there is hope :) if you put the battery back in, hold the camera button in and plug into the usb on a computer it will hopefully come up with a 3 coloured screen saying tornado on it...... hopefully Let me know if you can and if you can ill tell you how to fix it :) Phil
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 What ROM were you trying to use? I have seen this when trying to flash a rom, but using an incompatable update. Sounds stupid but are you sure you have an 8300? as your profile shows a C500 but you have made another post about the SDA II
Guest whazzaa Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Hi, Jep i was stupid and i did flash a incompatible firmware on my phone :) I bought my phone at a local dealer, so i phoned my phone compagny to send it to repair. The phone compagny told me i bought a secondhand phone :) and there was no case of repairing it.... So i went to my local dealer and explained he sold me a used phone.... So he came back with a new one ;) So now i have a new sda ii from t-mobile wich looks and feels like an 8300 but now i know it's an qtek 8200 alike phone. So before i'm flashing this phone again with some incompatible firmware i have to be sure what can be flashed on this device to get bluetooth working under tomtom 5.2 So i have learned a lot.... don;t flash a firmware on a device wich ya don't know what it is.... Anyway many thanks to ya guys who were willing to help me solve this problem.... Cheers Wh@ZzAA
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 As mentioned in your other post call TomTom for advice. If you have just changed your device you will need to reactivate the maps again.
