Guest mattgod69 Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Hi can anyone tell me which CAB files i need to copy to my storage card to install the French maps. The installer does not work with WM5 as we all know. There are two directories on the CD, FRA and FRP, I guess France and France PLUS. But I am wondering if I need to install France and France PLUS if I want the PLUs maps or just the France PLUS folder maps. Confusingly, there are files exactly the same size which have different filenames in each folder....... Cheers in anticipation. Matt

I have done that (well transferred the files to the storage card in the PPC using explorer) but I dont know how many of the files I need to install. I need to know, because if i dont think I have any way of checking the files unitl I am actually in france?? Guest mattgod69 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 awarner...... i have a full legal copy of tt5. i have now copied the cab files to the storage card but i cannot install them as the m5000 is app locked i thick (i get the message saying only click yes to install if its from a trusted source. Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 You may need to contact TomTom incase your files are corrupt in some way. I have the same device (JasJar version) and did not have any issues with installing the maps. From what you are saying you are still doing it wrong. As I said previously it is best to install the maps to the storage card with a card reader and use the TomTom installer. You do not place any map cab files on the card yourself let the TomTom installer do the work on the PC as that is what it is there for. Just start the map install application on the PC and follow the instructions. Don't forget a card reader as Activsync does not like large files.
