Guest jasperkins Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I'm new to smartphone homescreen design, and have the Motorola Q. I have noticed that there is limited options with the current plugins that work for WM5 and the Q- in Landscape. I have installed Facade, and its a great tool. However it also appears the 4orangeh plugin is a great plugin for homescreen designers. I am still trying to determine what it really provides. Thx!
Guest w411y Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 I have not used the plugin (basically because it scares me ;)) so what I say may not be 100% percent correct. As you may already understand, the plugins are listed in lines or layers. The Orange plugin allows you to display more than one plugin in a layer. For good use of it, check out Jamma14s XP homescreen and pretty much most of DrBlows work. Oh and oops I tell a lie... I used the plugin in my Vista Grass screen :) All of what I am referring to is available from the downloads section of this site :) Welcome to MoDaCo :D
Guest jasperkins Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Thanks for the welcome. I really am learning alot via this site. the one thing that is still upseting me is that I cant find a plugin or way to put data on the same line- apparently like the 4orangeh.dll provides. There are screens which look like they have a workaround using shortcuts, however its really not the same.
Guest jasperkins Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I have been playing with the orange plugin just fine on my motorla Q smartphone. (I copied and registered sucessfully the 4orangeh.dll from my other "Orange" phone device. The problem I have is that I still cant get any plugins to nest on the same line. Can somone send me a simple home.xml that works so I can test against my code? Just a basic Date and Profile on the same line? As the Q is a Landscape phone I am trying to port over some of DrBlows QVGA designs. However the plugins just dont seems to work. Now I can get the shortcut plugins to work, however this really doesnt open the functionality of the smartphones homescreen. Thanks, Jason [email protected]
