Users: interested in Controlling PC?

how many of you would be interested in an application to allow you to kind of control your PC via your PPC/Smartphone?

I dont quite mean like my WMP Remote app.

I mean in terms of controlling the mouse pointer and pretty much navigating it from the SPV/PPC? (Again connecting it via bluetooth/usb/gprs/wireless)

Just curious, I know there have been several requests on similar topics, but wondering if anyone would actually use it?

I've discovered Logmein.com on my PDA. Its fantastic- can control the PC from anywhere, either at home via broadband or on the road via GPRS.

but not everyone has it :)

the whole point is for me to make an app where everyone can use it...not to be in comparison with any other app.

Also - wondered if people would find it useful? :)

I wasnt trying to advertise Logmein, just stating that the fuctionality of it or any similar program is brilliant.

Ideally you want a program that displays the PC screen on the pda, with a fairly rapid refresh rate, connecting over WAN and if sound could also be forwarded, the possibilties are endless.

You could then browse the full internet on your pda via the main pc (and not be restricted by PIE). You can view images from a web cam connected to the main pc. You can run power hungry programs, such as full MS Word and Excel apparently on your pda. Even games may be played on the main pc via the pda (require fast refresh rate, good resolution)

thats actually asking too much.

PDA's/smartphones were designed for mobility not for the entire PC system to be used upon if you understand :)

but ill see what I can whip up. itll pretty much allow you to control the mouse pointer and do some other things...

Funny enough I have sat here and thought *I wish I could use this touch screen to move this mouse* and at times I wondered how the joystick on my C550 would perform. Advantage being I could connect to my PC over bluetooth. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard but they dont go very far.

it can be done, in fact i made a quick "cut up" or prototype yesterday in a few minutes.

if there is a fair number of interest then sure ,ill make one and put it up - it'll be a pleasure :)
