Guest nurotic Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 Ok. I own a M500, filled to the brim with software I don't use atall, but can't delete, so I have about 2MB of memory avainable (ok slight exaggeration but you get my point :) ) I'm a absolute novice to all the registry tweak stuff, but willing to learn. What step's exactly do I need to do to bootup with just the basic software and more free memory? Thanks in advance guys.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Hard reset and after screen calibration soft reset just after the device goes into windows - but IIRC you'll loose the camera app - or is that just on the XDA2? Hmmmmm.. Another option is to pay PPCtechs in the US to upgrade the onboard memory. Expansys are a UK agent for this with them also. Bit pricey though!... Richard
Guest nurotic Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 (edited) Ok. bin doin a bit of hunting. What I can't figure out is how do I access the extended memory install files so that I can choose what progs I want to install from this list posted here: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=225152&hl= thus freeing up more memory? Is there a special piece of software I use, a special boot mode or somthing? Edited June 17, 2006 by nurotic
Guest Palindrome Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Use the M500's built in file explorer. As long as you soft reset after the calibration stage (doing the screen, time zones etc.) and before it starts installing all the programs, the extended_ROM folder will be visible.
