You place cab files on the Storage card then you can use a file explorer like Smart Explorer from www.binarys.com to find the cab and install it, or you can place the file in IPSM/Windows/Start Menu/Accessories and then on the phone go to your Accessories folder and select the file you have just placed there and it will install the cab for you.

As for ringtones on the card you can place them in the root directory of the storage card or in My Documents. Only main ringtones will work like this as custom ringtones will not unless you alter the registry which can make the phone unstable.

Have a look in the FAQ section as there is a guide caled the First 48 Hours this is a guide for new users.
