Guest brandall Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Right I've been waiting and phoning and reading and pondering and now I am going shopping for a new PDA. I'm staying with Orange as the old tariff I'm on is too good to let go, but it looks like the M5000 is no more via an upgrade and the M3100 is not arriving soon enough........? What should I buy!? Money is no object :) . "There's nothing more unappealing to a woman than a man with an old smartphone" (brandall 17/06/2006) Ps. sorry about the title - made you look though.....
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 It's probably best to wait if you want to upgrade via Orange otherwise get an imate JasJar if you like the PDA sized phone and are impatient in getting a new device.
Guest w411y Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 If moneys no object then why not but a simfree device from imate or qtek. You could always upgrade on Orange then and sell off the phone you get off them or something?

Is there one device that stands out above all others, simfree or not?
Guest w411y Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 (edited) Do we have a release date for the M3100? Oh God dont count on Orange to give a date :) Oh and if moneys no objects will you buy me a phone :) But nah, take your time because you dont want to go making the wrong decision. Have a play on phones your bearing in mind before purchasing them. EDIT: Didnt see your last post ... umm in my eyes the best Smartphone is the imate-SP5. Pocket PCs vary, the JAMin is darned ice but lacks a keyboard which could annoy you. What are the main features you wan? WiFi / SD slot / miniSD / Good camera / easy for textin etc ... Samsung D500 for factor Small WiFi WM5 Pocket PC Touch Screen FM Radio PAL Television Review here Now I'm liking that....... although the person I sit next to at work has an M5000 and it has to be BIGGER and heavier than that; so I can blame it on features that his doesn't have..... Although my gilfriend is always telling me different - SIZE MATTERS A BIG Pocket PC version of that anywhere?
Guest w411y Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 LMAO! This is a first... everyone here moans PPCs are too big and embarrased when putting them to their ear :) I think that the m5000 is the biggest PPC out there really. Im not really sure how small this device is... I think I saw a video on youtube before. Ill dig it out now..
Guest brandall Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Here it is :) Thanks for that, it does look really smart - but it's too 'smartphone' for me..... I think I'm just gunna have to strap my laptop to my face...... I couldn't translate the video, but I'm sure the first 2mins 7secs was him trying to work out how to turn the damn thing on!! Ps. I'm sure a 'laptop-helmet' would be a winner?
Guest w411y Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 Ps. I'm sure a 'laptop-helmet' would be a winner? Well yeh... shelters you from rain, oh and those nasty UV rays from the sun :) Looking forward to some pics of the proto-type :)
Guest Confucious Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 The Ubiversal (aka M5000) is big but it's he canines gonads. Different people want differenr things but the large screen together with 3G make it ideal for internet browsing and the keyboard is a joy to use. But if you want big, may I sygest one of these? http://www.motorola.com/mediacenter/graphi...ectId=4279_4372
