Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 18, 2006 Report Posted June 18, 2006 Had a wonder through ebay looking for old Mio devices and noticed the Mitac Mio A701 Digiwalker GPS Sat Nav PDA Mobile Phone is a popular cheap item now. Strange how they all come from China, Taiwan and Ireland and the sellers all have similar feedback ratings and most have feedback from members who have no feedback themselves :) And the best bit, these supposed auctions from other sales look just like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=6066877315 And not forgetting all the given feedback was on the same day a few minutes apart. When will these people learn :)
Guest Sp00k Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 It's the same principle as SPAM... If it didn't pay, they wouldn't do it... The mug-punters on eBay are the ones who need to learn.. And for some, it'll be an expensive lesson!
Guest Laser_iCE Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I saw a few like these and was very tempted to throw a few dollars their way (was the going price), and if they took off with it (which I knew they would), I was hopefully going to sue them or ebay ;x Never got around to it, though.
Guest Crispy Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Ya, saw those too... the sad thing was that it was probably one of the most obvious scams ever; all of the auctions were from sellers with 10 feedback from users with names like dj28e923(0) and for strange reasons they had all left the exact same feedback... I mean, even Ray Charles could see that they were not genuine... *rolls eyes*
Guest blewer Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I saw a few of these, most of the auctions were for cameras. They seem to all have about 10 feedback and all the usernames are very similar. Shipping is from china Wasters Adam
