Guest nedge2k Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 [teaser] If you have an Eten M600 and have been green with envy that pretty much everyone else has AKU2 (push email) apart from you, turn that frown upside down because Eten have unleashed an MSFP update (225) for the M600! The fun doesn't stop there Eten fans, this update also includes A2DP (stereo bluetooth) so whereas before you wished you'd bought a HTC device, now HTC device owners with they had an Eten. Oh the irony...[/teaser] Reportedly fixed problems include:Screen alignment issues fixedIncreased responsivenessBacklight goes darker when dimmed (as in 215 rom)New GPRS/MMS connection wizard Low in call volume (can be fixed with patch)Additional info: [*]New ROM uses AKU2.2 [*]AKU2.2 sees the removal of that awful battery icon that MS forced upon us. [*]AKU2.2 also sees the comeback of the clock in the title bar. [*]You can switch between both using this reg hack. Grab the 225 update at http://www.eten.ch/ Official update notification from Eten (pdf warning)
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 'turn that frown upside down' :) :) P
Guest Pondrew Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Good for Eten. Now why can't HTC get it working enough to roll it out...
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 CPU! The HTC devices use a TI OMAP 850 at 200MHz, whereas the Eten has a much faster clocked Intel XScale (IIRC)... P
Guest Pondrew Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Ooh. Does that mean the HTC Hermes is going to have it by default? I hope so. Oh, and doesn't the Prophet have it?! It's packing the same processor as the others... Afterthought: HTC still left A2DP out of most of the Universal updates didn't they? That's running the XScale at high clock speed...
Guest nedge2k Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 there was a leaked Qtek rom for both the Wizard and the Universal with A2DP so I don't really buy the whole CPU excuse as the Wizard's CPU is that awful 200Mhz thing.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 It's not on the Prophet. From what i've heard, it didn't work that well on the TI OMAP devices... Universal is 520MHz Intel too isn't it? P
Guest nedge2k Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I had it running on my Vario, no problems with Bluetake headphones :) and yep Universal is 520 Intel. Incidently, how does terminal services run on the Prophet? On the Wizard it's like walking through treacle.
