Today Screen is.... not there!

Morning

Just looking for some advice if possible. Thought I would install a theme (.tsk format) for WM5 O2 XDA EXEC.

Installed the theme in the WINDOWS folder.

Went to the TODAY screen (Start / Settings and choose TODAY)

I can see the theme listed, so I select this, choose "use picture as the background" and click ok.

Yes, when back on the today screen..... nothing!! No theme!

I dont really customise the WM5 device, however I do have SPB Pocket Plus v2.5 Build 2084 - Now this was one of my first apps to install on the device.

May be unrelated but wanted to be sure. Am I doing anything wrong in the above steps to use a theme?

Also, is it me or is it hard to find any decent PPC WM5 themes that work in portrait and landscape.

Finally, the daftest question of all.... what is QVGA and VGA :) I was not sure it related to my device or not!

Thanks

Silly Sonic :)

Never messed arround with themes on the Exec - but unless it was written specifiaclly for the Universal I doubt if it will work.

To answer your last question:

VGA = Video Grapgics Array = 640X480 (and at least 64k colours)

QVGA= 1/4 VGA = 320 X 240

Thanks for this. So is the O2 XDA EXEC VGA and QVGA then? As the screen can rotate?

The themes I downloaded stated WM5 compliant for portrait and landscape.

Thanks

No, the Exec is VGA 640 x 480 or 480 X 640

I think the wizard is QVGA and that also has portrait and landscape modes. Unless it sys it is VGA portrait and landscape or specifically says for the Universal I would be very surprised if it did work.

Hi

Many thanks once again!! At least this solves one problem... STOP looking for QVGA themes :-)

So doyou happen to know any where to get themes for this device by chance?

Thanks again.

Sorry like I say, I've not really looked for any.

You might try posting in the Universal forum and ask what people use and where they get them, that way at least you know any replies should work with your device.

Good luck.
