Guest NeoGearX Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 This just started recently but for some reason when i turn off my phone (motorola mpx220 1.4 rom) and turn it back on all of my txt messages are gone, (not deleted so i cant go to the deleted folder and restore them) is there anything i could do short of a hard reset to fix this... its more annoying than anything else and lol the 10 minutes that it would take me to restore my phone after the hard reset is just something i dont want to do. --NeoGearX--
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 There used to be a bug on the old SPV where if you did not read a message and powered off you would lose your messages but never heard of it on a 2003 device. What applications have you installed recently?
Guest NeoGearX Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Ive only installed 3rd party homescreens (like the ones you can dl here) and a reg editor which i had to use to reprogram my phone to support chinese characters (i did this about 6 months ago, and after the reg modification the txt msgs werent a problem.) However all of these progams have all been uninstalled for some time now.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I have seen problems after removing the Chinese language support and text messages which then did require a hard reset. That was more related to changing symbols etc when writing an sms than actually losing the messages. Unfortunately it sounds like you may need to do a hard reset.
