Guest Pagemakers Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Each time I turn wifi off it turns itself back on when use the phone again. It stays off when I turn it off for a second time. Anyone else with the same problem?
Guest Tech Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 make sure that you dont have any apps requiring internet or even internet explorer being left open as sometimes some websites have an autorefresh when kicks in, resulting in turning back on your wifi/internet connection
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I don't. Odd thing is it always turns off on the 2nd attempt.
Guest team_edition Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 I have exactly the same problem on my SP5! Strangely I never did on my SP5m (and that had the latest firmware since March too). I "upgraded" to the SP5 a week ago and the first thing I noticed was that when you switch off WiFi (using the button on the side and selecting 3) it keeps switching itself back on again of it's own accord. My SP5m never did this. Most odd........
Guest RSkillz Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) I've also got the exct same problem... What software do you have installed? - Oak HotButton Plus - TCPMP - MoDaCo Startup Assistant (for right softbutton tweak) - Sailing Clicker - WM5torage And my 8310 is Overclocked. Guest wetete Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 I observe exactly the same problem with AKU2 update and it did also before. I have QTEK 8310 ... Hope somebode finds a explanation and bugfix for it ... I have unckecked all the "Auto turn off WLAN" timeout options (Sttings/Connections/Wifi settings/Power mode)and my wifi no longer turns itself on automatically. Try it!
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Yea, but then the problem you have is even with the screen off, wifi is still on which = poor battery.
Guest pankul Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 same problem. have TMobile sda with imate sp5 m rom aku 2 update. with none of the above mentioned software. i also dont want to leave wi fi on at all times by disabling auto power off for battery reasons. once you drain your battery that way you must charge with real charges instead of computer usb connection.
