Guest spacerace Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I'm sure there is a way to do this on the phone, although I don't know of one ! However one option is to delete the Active Sync partnership, and sync creating a new partnership (set the PC to override all entries on the phone). Make sure the PC profile is empty and it should wipe contacts and calender entries on the phone. You may have to create a blank Outlook profile to sync with, but you might just be able to say "don't sync with Outlook" and then AS will empty out the Cal/Cont folders.
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 do not use the storage cleaner on the phone it is s*** it basically hard resets the phone what you need i pocket kia or kai outlook cleaner it rmoves all contacts all calender stuuf all tasks just passed events (by more than a day) and deltes all duplicate entries at the flick of a switch (ok button)
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 How to Delete your entire contact list without doing a hard reset. The best way to do this is to use Activesync, remember to follow the exect proceedure or you will risk losing your contact details on your pc as well. Start Outlook the on your Contact screen click Edit\Select All thenEdit\Delete This will remove all your Contacts from your PC (don't worry we have not finished yet). Do NOT quit Outlook at this point or you will lose your Contacts forever! now sync the phone making sure the rules in ActiveSync are set to "replace the item on my device" when you sync your contacts will now be wiped from your phone. Now your Contacts are removed from your phone, unplug the phone and with Outlook click on Edit\Undo Delete. This will return your Contacts back to normal on your pc. Just remember not to quit Outlook until you have selected Undo Delete or you will also lose your contacts on the PC for good as well.
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 is just me or does active synch only sych one way. My wedding anniversary was in my calendar but was listed as Leanne's anniversary I changed it to wedding anniversary and synched it turned back to leanne's anniversary it did this three times till I changed the setting to replace items on PC now am I mistaken but isn't it supposed to sync both ways by synching the most recent change made on one transfering to the other one only if both have been changed does it ask which one is to take the leading roll as to which controls the change I only ask because I do not see hte need to make the change you mentioned unless it does indeed only synch one way? now sync the phone making sure the rules in ActiveSync are set to "replace the item on my device" when you sync your contacts will now be wiped from your phone.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Check your Activesync settings for conflicts
Guest Qtek8310 Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I managed to do it by deleting PIM.VOL from the phone memory and reboot the phone. After rebout the phone created a new empty file. Backup this file for extra security. Maybe you regret that you made it empty.
Guest conan_troutman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 (edited) no conflicts as i had not used outlook on pc for about a week but on every sync the data on the phone reverts back to whats in outlook also the other thing that i find happening is reminders on the PC do not show until I sync my phone then they pop up telling me that they are 3 hours late when in fact i got the reminder 3 hours ago on the phone dissmissed it and deleted it as soon as I sync it puts it back on the phone then the pc reminds me its late only when i dissmiss it from both pc and phone does it delete. I tell you something is wrong it never acted like this with 3.8 and wm2003 infact my wifes mpx 220 sync properly withAS4.2 she can alter any entry on either device or PC and it updates the other reminders sound on both at the right time and when she deltes one it deletes it from the other when synched instead of recreating it on the device it was deleted from. conflict setting are there for just that conflicts ie the wife is reminded at 3pm for a doctors appointment she edits it to show her next appointment instead I delte it as it pops up on the PC at the next synch she is asked which entry she would like to keep PCor device if you dont answer it takes the one from the default setting you made in conflict settings yet WM5 does not work in that way or at least not for me. If i delete a contact on the phone at next sync it should delete it from outlook too but it doesnt it recreates it back on the phone what gives? Edited June 22, 2006 by conan_troutman
