Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 (edited) Hi I have an SPV M600. There is a lot of talk around about updating ROM's but not much on actually doing it. I am going to find the I-mate ROM as this seems to be the most stable in most peoples opinion, and update my device with it. Once I'm done I will provide the ROM and some instructions. Guest hp1 Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hey Evil, I'd be intersted in that, see my post here http://www.modaco.com/Possible-to-flash-En...od-t238791.html I'm a bit nervous about doing it.
Guest Pondrew Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 No uploading or distribution of roms through MoDaCo per the forum rules please...
Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi EDIT awarner No direct links to clubimate Roms alowed please use their FTP which is accessible to the public. however, I know not if this is the latest version, or indeed how old it is. I tried to run it anyway, but all I got was a "ERROR 120:Country ID Error" (even though this is the UK rom), and tells me thy ROM image was not designed to work on my device. The installer has a CG picture of the device on the left, and it does look different to my M600, the joypad and button are more square than round and the softkeys are made up of peices rather than the 1 peice so maybe this is for an older version of the I-Mate. Has anyone got the latest I-Mate Jam ROM?? Cheers Daz
Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Sorry Mr Moderator, didn't read the rules on ROMS, I won't post any more Links. Daz
Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Right, it would appear that the ROM I do need is for the I-Mate JAMin nat Jam. I am currently downloading it from their FTP site. (not sure if I am allowed to advertise it here, so no link, however it should be simple enough for you to find yourselves :) . I will try this once downloaded and let you know the results. Peas Daz
Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Right. I downloaded JAMin_WWE_ 2130923_21309112_020720_ship.exe from the I-mate FTP site. I ran the utility and went through the steps: Then I got this error. My M600 then had a Red ?Blue /Green screen with "SPL2.10.00001" at the top and the middle. I powered it off, but it wouldn't power on again. Removing the battery for a few seconds then replacing it and turning it on saw it boot normally into the its previous state (phew) So I tried again making sure that all apps on my computer were closed, so nothing was running but the update utility. I then got this: It looks like the update utility can detect that this is not an I-Mate provided HTC Prophet and therefore will not install the ROM. I am back to square 1. All I wnt to do is get rid of the nasty Orange ROM on this phone. Any body got any ideas? Thanks Daz
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 You will need to CID unlock your device. Some sites that SIM unlock can also CID unlock at the same time. For example www.imei-check.co.uk could help you out Or if if you are more technical try xda developers.
Guest EvilDaz Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks for the advice. It would appear that I do need to do a CID unlock. So far I have found these: 1) Lokiwiz (http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59&func=view&id=21734&catid=45) This will not work on devices with later versions of ROM such as the SPV M600. Bummer :) "Lockiwiz can only unlock your Prophet device if your Rom version is 1.XX.XXX. For the new AKU2 ROMS (i.e Orange M600 ROM) there is no solution yet." There was talk on the thread I found this quote on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic....dca8ae0e7bfb752 about flashing phones to earlier ROM's from your device vendor then using Lociwiz. However I don't think there are any earlier orange ROM's and I can't really be arsed doing all that anyway. 2) http://www.jafwm.com . Unfortunaltey you have to buy a key or dongle or such like to have this work, and I don't really want to spend any more money on this. I've already managed to waste around
Guest badgerarc Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 try this? http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...rophet_Upgrades
