Hi there. I was upgrading to a new rom upgrade and it just stopped @ 70%. Now, i can't even enter in the bootloader aka screen with 3 colors. I just can't power it on with the camera button because when i put on the battery it even just powers on instantly without i powering it up. I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem as soon as possible, urgent. Cheers.

On the C550 you say? There is no ROM upgrade for this phone!

It sounds like you have nakered the boot loader which means it will have to go to HTC to be repaired. (Re-Flashed)

Yep! symptoms of an incorrect rom upgrade! Im guessing it was an imate SP5m and you did it buy the picture or something.

You give HTC a ring and they will tell you what you will need to do to send it too them.

Here's the site for the HTC repair center

http://service.htceurope.com/Wizard.aspx

but..do i have to pay for the repair ? The phone is still in the warranty, i have it like a month or less or something like that. Isn't there any way to repair it instead of sending it to HTC ?

Try ringing Orange and just say it won't turn on. They may send you a new phone and collect that one. I don't think the warranty covers ROM upgrade faults mind you

Nope you are not covered by warranty if you have attempted to use a ROM from another supplier.

Normally you can get away with it though as Orange do not appear to be that hot on the issue.

Unless you have Orange care you may be without the device for around two weeks.

i called Orange Help Desk, and told them about the problem, i didn't said it was an upgrade error, i said instead that it was not switching on though. Should i tell them that it's an upgrade error ? Yes, you're right about that, they told to go to the Orange shop where i bought the phone and they will exchange it for me but i have to wait about 2 weeks. Please reply :)

EDIT: i've called HTC Europe today, explained them about the upgrade error, and they said that they're going to send me an e-mail with the stuff and ill send them the phone and they repair it free of charge :)

Nice on the free repair, but you may have to pay for return delivery.
