Guest vk2003 Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 Just got an O2 XDA IQ. Comes with AKU2 ROM, but lots of O2 branding everywhere. Just wondering whether anyone can advise whether it may be worthwhile changing to an SP5 ROM - will it speed the phone up in any way or yield any benefits? Cheers

Guest conan_troutman Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 as I use a qtek 8310 i could n't compare it to a branded version i always try to buy inbranded ones. the phone is a lil slow once it gets a few progams on but nothing that care and attention and an sautomatic reboot once a day will not cure my suggestion is if you really really cant live with the branding change it but make sure you still get all the services first as an o2 phone there may be axtra o2 specific feature that will not be on the sp5 rom

Guest mankian Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 is it possible to get an o2 xda iq on payg from o2?
Guest conan_troutman Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 is it possible to get an o2 xda iq on payg from o2? No only on contarct you could get a Imate sp5, dopod 577, or qtek 8310 all essentially the same phone as the iq but in this stage in the game why not go for the HTC meteor I believe its a 3G smartphone running WM5
Guest jm012a9749 Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 but in this stage in the game why not go for the HTC meteor I believe its a 3G smartphone running WM5 3G with no video calling and no WiFi, so really its a bit of a step back from the SP5/8310 etc. Phil
Guest conan_troutman Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 really... 3G with no video calling and no WiFi, so really its a bit of a step back from the SP5/8310 etc now I am shocked at that in that case stick with the SP5/8310 veriety
Guest jm012a9749 Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 really... now I am shocked at that in that case stick with the SP5/8310 veriety i know its shocking. HTC make a phone with WiFi and then dont implement that tech into other phones? just plain silly.... Phil
