Just got an O2 XDA IQ. Comes with AKU2 ROM, but lots of O2 branding everywhere. Just wondering whether anyone can advise whether it may be worthwhile changing to an SP5 ROM - will it speed the phone up in any way or yield any benefits?

Cheers

as I use a qtek 8310 i could n't compare it to a branded version i always try to buy inbranded ones.

the phone is a lil slow once it gets a few progams on but nothing that care and attention and an sautomatic reboot once a day will not cure

my suggestion is if you really really cant live with the branding change it but make sure you still get all the services first as an o2 phone there may be axtra o2 specific feature that will not be on the sp5 rom

Thanks Conan :)

I suppose what I was wondering is whether anyone knows whether the O2 ROM slows the phone down over an unbranded ROM - there are lots of people who have found their Orange phones have speeded up once iMate ROMS have been used to replace the Orange ones with which they shipped...

No only on contarct you could get a Imate sp5, dopod 577, or qtek 8310

all essentially the same phone as the iq

but in this stage in the game why not go for the HTC meteor

I believe its a 3G smartphone running WM5

3G with no video calling and no WiFi, so really its a bit of a step back from the SP5/8310 etc.
