Flight Mode toggle when signal is lost

I was given a SPV C500 which I unlocked using information using information posted at MODACO, and I have since becomed quite attached to it. I have noticed that when the phone loses the signal, it will search for hours without regaining the signal. I have to manually switch the flight mode off then on to restore the signal or switch the phone off then on. Are there any programmers out there who could write a small program to toggle the flight mode whenever the signal is lost say every 15 seconds until a signal is regained? this program would just sit and monitor the signal level. I am sure there are lots of members having this problem.
