GPRS stopped working after applying T-Mobile (UK) AKU2 ROM update on a T-Mobile (US) MDA

I downloaded and installed the AKU2 ROM update from the T-Mobile (UK) site.

I am a US customer and have a US-based MDA (or MDA Vario as it is known in the UK). I was previously using ROM version 2.17 for months (downloaded from XDA Developers), and it worked well (some freezing issues, but no GPRS problems.) I thought that an official ROM would be more stable, and decided to get it from the UK site. Now that I downloaded and installed it, everything works fine, except I have no Internet connectivity at all. Whenever I try to connect to a site (Google, say), I get a dialog box that says it's dialing, and then I get an error message that says "Cannot connect for an unknown reason."

Any thoughts?

The UK ROM use the UK GPRS access point.

You have to change the settings to use the US version of GPRS access point.

How do I do that and what are the settings?

I can't give you the settings, but once you've got them you enter them as follows:

Go to

Start

Settings

Connections Tab

Tap Connection Icon

Where it says T-Mobile Internet, tap Manage Existing Connections

Select the item in the list and tap Edit

Then follow the Wizard to enter the settings you've been given.

No idea, sorry. Have a search here or ask T-Mobile for the settings.

Our UK T-Mobile website has a section with all of the settings perhaps the USA T-Mobile website has somehting similar?

vindicator2002 - You are not the only one with this problem. Check out a thread that I just posted. I think you are having the same problem as I am, as I started having this problem yesterday morning as well. Let me know if you figure out a solution.

Internet through T-Zones no longer working.

UPDATE: I flashed the ROM back to the AKU2 2.17 ROM from XDA developers; now my phone is working fine, and the connectivity is restored. I will either snoop around for the settings, or just wait until T-Mobile releases a US version.
