Hello,

I'm not familiar with Smartphones...I had just bought one about 2 weeks ago and I have already used most of its memory up. When I got the phone, I put in a 500 MB SD card and I just put in a new 1 GB SD card, but it did not help at all with the extra storage for the memory problem. I also had tried to remove some applications (mostly custom homescreens), but the phone didn't alow me to delete them...What is the best way to remove unwanted programs on the phone and make it run faster? Is there any recommended software for this? By the way, the type of phone is a Moto MPX200 with Smartphone 2002.

what happens when you remove the programs? is there an error message or....?

Make sure that when you are installing programs etc... that they are installed on the storage card and not the phone memory.

As well as this, do you use outlook? in other words, do you sync with activesync your outlook emails?

Do you have alot of pictures? Have you tried moving everything from my documents folder to the storage card?

the device (I believe from what I am reading) is a bit outdated now and will get slower or at least the feel of it...time for an upgrade?

Time for an upgrade??? She has only just got the phone.

Welome to the site Kaitlyn :)

As you now have a larger storage card what I would personally do is hard reset the phone, this will take it back to it's factory settings wiping all information you have put on the phone. Then resync your phone and when installing any software make sure you save them to the storage card.

Only keep ringtones and homescreen themes on the storage card as this will help to keep the memory down. As for removing themes you have installed you need to go to Settings/Remove Programs and any themes you install should be there.

Finally keep an eye on your SMS and email folders especially making sure you empty your deleted items folder as these can get quite large and take up a lot of memory.
