Qtek 8500 Unlock issue

I have any issue with my file explorer not recongnising the regedit_stg.zip file after i have copied it over to the device.

Anyone got any pointers on how to get around this ?

As the 8500 is such a new device problems will be expected to arise.

When you say it is not recognising it what is actually happening ie can ie see the file but not open it?

Exactly. It does not recognise any associated program for the ZIp file.

Extract the zip file on the pc then use the exe inside on the phone

Active sync will not copy the exe file..Complain about permissions etc

have you got a memory card in the phone and crd reader on your PC?

what happens if you bluetooth the file over?

I think I had that prob with my tornado and the card reaser was how I had to do it.

Ok, i have sorted it out now.

1. Download and install Smartexplorer

2. Extract the zip file and you can run the regedit program.

3. Use the same reg changes as listed for the 8310

Should be fine now to install whatever you want including certficates etc

Regedit_STG.zip

8310_unlock.txt
