Guest rodg98133 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Hi all. I'm back after a few months of not having a PPC or smartphone. I'm getting a new XDA exec on Thursday. What I want to know is I will be using my orange sim in it and would like to flash it with an updated ROM. Whats the best ROM available for it and would oter networks ROM's (Like for oranges M5000) work on it? Cheers guys
Guest Tech Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 it is recommended to use the network providers ROM otherwise it could possibly void the warranty of the device. Obviously they release/design it for a reason :) :)
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 If there are no issues with the device (like unexplained soft resets, lost memory cards, instabliity etc) I'd stick with the O2 ROM ...but if you have problems I'd recommend shopping around. I have the imate ROM on my T-Mobile Vario and it's great (way better than the original T-Mob effort IMO)
Guest Confucious Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 I have an Exec on T-Mob and use the O2 ROM, it is one of the latest and works fine. Installing other ROMS is a bit of a pain but can be done, just didn't see the need to. Why on earth use Orange? There crippling data prices really ruin the Exec IMHO.
Guest rodg98133 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Orange are giving me 3 months of 3G usage upto 1gb per month for free, 400 mins, 1750 Texts and free Broadband for my house. All for just
Guest Confucious Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Yes, no problem. I had 3 months free wiyh O asa well, gets you used to it then they charge a fortune!
