Guest Twilight.Cruiser Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Hi there, I want birthdays and other anniversary dates - entered in the contacts - to appear in my smartphones calendar, without heaving the need to sync my device with a PC's fu..ing outlook! Last not least, I want them to be displayed at my today's screen, so that I won't forget them! :) Searching modaco and other resources on the web, I've found two (free) plugins that seem to be convinient at first sight: [1] Birthdays [2] Calendar+ Unfortunately, both doesn't seem to work with Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphones (I guess they won't support any Windows Smartphone at all)... <_< So, does anybody know any tool / plugin doing that job on a WM5SP (freeware prefered...)? Thanx in advance...!
Guest chucky.egg Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Don't know of any I'm afraid If you enter the contacts into Outlook, add a birthday, sync then it'll do it all for you. Birthdays don't generally change often, so can you not sync once to get what you need for no cost?
Guest Twilight.Cruiser Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 Don't know of any I'm afraidIt's a pity...! ;) If you enter the contacts into Outlook, add a birthday, sync then it'll do it all for you.Yes, I know this... - but on the one hand, I don't use Outlook for private (and even don't want to install it), and on the other hand I don't want to have my private contacts stored in outlook at work...!! Birthdays don't generally change often, so can you not sync once to get what you need for no cost? Yes, refering that you're absolutely right...! :) *LOL!* But it would really be nice (...in consideration of the points mentioned above...) to have the possibility to sync the contact's birthdays to the calendar... :)
Guest Twilight.Cruiser Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I want birthdays and other anniversary dates - entered in the contacts - to appear in my smartphones calendar, without heaving the need to sync my device with a PC's fu..ing outlook!I think I've got it! :) After asking and looking around in different forums, searching at any imaginable mobile software download site, trying out many tools and 'googleing' for a solution again and agian, at least I've found a tool that seems to fit my needs! ;) Papurys from SBSH Mobile Software is not for free, but looks pretty nice at first sight! It's called a management solution, including a more powerful calendar which is also capable of showing birthdays and anniversary days (taken from the phones contacts list)! Sure I have to find & try out all of its functionality next time, but I guess I won't be disappointed. There's aversion running on SmartPhones with WM5 (supporting also QVGA display resolution - and...: YEAH!! It really works!!!!) :) as well as a version for Symbian 60 based phones. Just take a look! :D
