Guest Trancersteve Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) Hi all, I've just recieved my replacement C600 after my old one's joystick had probs. I'm having a really hard time unlocking the application lock on my new replacement which came with the AKU2 patch already on. So far i've tried: Using regedit.exe (from spv-developers.com) and uploading it to my phone, but when I run it it says can't start as its not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. Am I using the right registry editing program? Could you point me to the right one if so? I've also tried a windows based reg edit program called Mobile Registry Editor that makes changes via windows. When I go to save the changes it says access denied. Also tried the orange website to unlock the SPV but it tells me it doesn't know my IMEI number. I download the orange registering program onto my c600 it opens up for 1 second then closes back down. :) This is doing my head in! Not sure what to do, Any help would be great, thanks :) Edited June 28, 2006 by Trancersteve
Guest Disco Stu Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 1) Orange Unlock Tool: Emailed orange at ([email protected]) with a polite request for the De-Cert/App unlock tool for the latest AKU2 Rom, explaining the problems i'd been having running various Apps & Tweaking my phone. This tool is specific to the IMEI so you will need to supply the following Information on your email: >My IMEI Number is - >Full name - >The Mobile Number of the SPV to be unlocked - +44?????????? >Daytime Contact Number - +44?????????? >Daytime email address - :)
Guest Trancersteve Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 :) Thanks hehe got the reply today and is all working :). Surprising how many more hoops u gotta jump thru due to this newer firmware
Guest mini_man Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 You should try flashing it with an imate sp5 rom. It works alot smoother and you dont have all that annoying orange rubbish.

Some people do prefer the Orange homescreens - as well as all the mms/gprs etc settings being pre-installed. Plus, if you have a problem with the device and you take it back to the shop where they discover the SP5 software installed - they're within their rights to tell you to go home and think about what you've done (invalidated your warranty, perhaps?) Its safer to stay with the Orange fw :)
Guest mini_man Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Yeh but you can just reflash the rom with the AKU2 fw from orange right? You just use cabs for the orange settings now its sooooo quick.
