Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Tried a Nokia Phone for giggles and was hugely disappointed. http://www.Mobiholics.com/index.php?s=&...post&p=3189 Windows Mobile Rules!!! (Though I am still disappointed in the quality and quantity of software). Which phone to get next???? I like the Q but dont think I want to switch to Verizon just yet. There's GOT to be something cool coming out soon. Should I get a StarTrek in the meantime? Decisions Decisions.

I tried a non smartphone for a laugh (granted it wasn't a symbian) abd lasted a couple of hours with it!! I've got the Startrk now and have to say I really like it. Had a spell with PPC too (prophet) but it was just to big. Depends on what your last smartphone was but I'm very happy with the Startrk (for now :) ) and if you like flip phones its definatly your best choice (possible your only one :) ) atb gR
Guest w411y Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Depends on what your last smartphone was.. If I remember correctly he had an i-mate SP5 (a phone I am gagging for :) ) I don't like the look or sound of the Breeze (now HTC MteoR) If I could have any smartphone it would be the SP5 (which you've already had) but with the StrTrek as a very close second If I could have any PPC it would be the Gigabyte G-Smart. I like the form factor and has some cool new features.
Guest xda_gangsta Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 I would go for the C600 with an unlimited data plan!
Guest sporkguy Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 If I remember correctly he had an i-mate SP5 (a phone I am gagging for :) ) I don't like the look or sound of the Breeze (now HTC MteoR) I have an SP5 as my spare phone that I use when its not appropriate to carry my Vario (usually when I'm either wearing my skinny jeans, or when I'm dancing the night away at the Paradise Lounge!) Nick: I'd recommend either of my devices to you mate, as they're both cracking. Out of interest, why did you leave the SP5? The Q looks cracking, but its CMDA only at the moment isnt it? bah at that I say - roll on the Sim-free GSM handset!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Ha! I was only gone for about a week! :) Take a look at my sig. I've had almost everything out there (SP's that is). I know the power of the smartphone (better today). I don't question that will all do what I want them to do. I'm just always looking for the next thing. I already have unlimited data, and I currently like SPs better than PPCs for me needs. I won't go back to something I already had though. Where's the fun in that? I think the StarTrek is next for me. Despite the non-mini-usb and the microSD, it will satisfy me for awhile. :)
Guest Tech Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I have an SP5m since november LOVE IT BABY C600 sucks - nuff said :)
Guest mini_man Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 C600 sucks - nuff said dont diss! its great! its a hell of alot better than the C550.

Very happy with the phone too I migh add ;) atb
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Just to top off this thread...I got a StrTrk and love it. The most phone-like smartphone ever.
Guest J273 Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Just to top off this thread...I got a StrTrk and love it. The most phone-like smartphone ever. Which do you prefer encece out of the StrTrk and sp5.......Im considering moving on from the jammin to somthing more phone like....Was considering the SP5 / SP5M but heard good things of the StrTrk,tempted by it. Which do you prefer? Thanks Jamie
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 I had the SP5 and SP5m. Both are GREAT phones and include WiFi. Out of the two, I think I liked the SP5m better (which I had first of the two). I'd still have the SP5 now...but I sold it thinking I'd try a Nokia for a while. That only lasted a week and it was gone. The only reason I bought the StrTrk is becausde I needed a Smartphone again....and why get the same one. Now that I have it...I think it's great. It feels nore like a phone than any Smartphone I've had. Light, thin, flipphone. If theat's for you, then it is really a great phone. If I had to choose between the StrTrk and the SP5m....I'd get the SP5m. The StrTrk has MicroSD, which means I have a 2GB MiniSD sitting on a shelf. The STrTrk has a proprietary sync/charging cable, which is incompatible with the miniUSB cords that almost every other Smartphone uses. The STrTrk has a proprietary headset port...which means you can only use THEIR headset. The StrTrk doesnt have WiFi. The StrTrk's battery doesnt last as long as the SP5 or SP5m. Other than that...it's the same phone inside and still a great phone. You need to weigh the benefits and Negatives of both personally. I had the JAMin too and it was a great phone. I just prefer Smartphones better.

Guest nevawlkalone Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 dont diss! its great! its a hell of alot better than the C550. True but there's nothing wrong with the C550 either!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 My motto is...if you are in the market for a new phone....why but an older model (even slightly older)....when you can buy the latest and greatest?! :)
