Guest pdtp Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 (edited) So i have retured my phone back to cingular for a second time (im now on my third 8125). I burnt out the radio stack (i think) on it by Streaming http://www.DI.fm for 6 hours straight wile on my way back from Las Vegas. when i got to work the next day i was having troubles receving calls then a few hours later there was no singnal and i was due to go on a camping trip that day so needless to say i was pissed. i went to the cingular store and customer cervice (Via a phone call from the store) shipped me out a phone via next day delivery free of charge (usualy they charge for next day delivery). i tried everything to get my phone to work i updated roms downgraded roms put it in and out of flight mode switched sim cards everything i could think of. i think that phone was bugged from the day i got it. it did a couple random reboots within the first 24 hours of owning the second one but i seamed to have fixed that with a couple of rom upgrades. this third phone i like much more it seams a lot better (no scratches to speak of and the stilis holder is nice and stiff). i hope that this is the last time that i have to send a phone back. Guest Laser_iCE Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Eek ... I really want to get a new outer casing, just to give me the feeling of having a brand new phone :)
Guest zero_divide_1 Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Eek ... I really want to get a new outer casing, just to give me the feeling of having a brand new phone :) Tell me about it. I got the 9100 2 weeks after it was first released, and since the 8125 was released, I've been wanting that casing instead. Button placement (with the exception of the dial and hangup buttons) are better placed and the soft keys aren't small and difficult to press without accidently pressing the dial/hangup keys. As for the radio stack issue, I've never had a problem streaming for extended periods of time. I'm using the 2.25.11 radio rom from Cingular and haven't really had a problem with it since I got it. My 9100 is connected to GPRS/EDGE from 9:30am to 9:30pm and never have had any problems. But then again, the heat might have had something to do with it (I know using my WiFi really heats my unit up if I have it on for a while).
