Guest monkleyz Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 so i recently noticed my phone has a huge G in a white box in the top bar of my homescreen...and ive had my phone for a long time...and i dont remember seeing this until now?...can anyone identify this G and maybe how to get rid of it?...or is it normal?... Thank you
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Welcome to the site :) What you see is perfectly normal and just indicates you have GPRS enabled on your phone and you are in an area that has GRPS available.
Guest monkleyz Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 oh...but does that mean my service provider is charging me for it?...
Guest Tech Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 no, not unless you use it in which case you will have a small G where the reception bars are :)
Guest monkleyz Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 but i think thats where it is?...its in the upper bar of the homescreen...not directly on the side of the reception bar but its in that bar...is there anyway to turn it off?...im worried... its located in the center of the top bar...
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Only when the little G is located on top of the signal bars are you connected to GPRS and possibly transferring data which you will be charged for. If this happens press and hold the red (end call) button to disconnect. This includes both internet and MMS connections.
