Guest yoos Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 (edited) I'm not sure why my battery sucks so much, but if I have a fully charged battery in the morning, keep Wifi and Bluetooth off, my battery still needs to be charged before the end of the day. I can't go a full day without charging it. It goes down to 20-30%. Can anything be done to improve the battery life? Edited July 4, 2006 by yoos

Can anything be done to improve the battery life? stuff in power management in settings can help.... ie switching the backlight off sooner etc. my battery is good when used as a phone.... switch wifi on and it rapidly disappears :) whats the capacity of your battery? ie how many mAh ? should say on the battery phil
Guest yoos Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 It says: Model: BTR5600 Rating: 3.7 VDC, 1050 mAh I think I have my power settings set low (good)? Li ion batterys have a limited number of charge cycles which causes them to lose the ability to hold charge as well... phil
Guest rogueqd Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Check what programs you have running. "real time" programs, such as clocks, music players, games, timers, or anything that updates the screen once a second or more, will use up a lot of battery if left running in the background.
Guest merwin Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 You can use Tornado PowerControl and Underclock your phone a bit. If you're not using it for GPS or any cpu intensive application, you can save a lot of battery by underclocking it. This, of course, will only save you battery when you're using it. When the phone goes into power saving mode it will not help to have it underclocked. Tornado PowerControl has the ability now to instantly overclock/underclock the phone through a menu option. http://www.modaco.com/Tornado-PowerControl-t237427.html
Guest yoos Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 I am using the smart monitor and facade plugins on the homescreen, both which update every X seconds or minutes (I don't know??). I'm trying to see if I can change the frequency in which these update to longer... I also have Xbar running in the background. I just installed and configured Tornado PowerControl so we'll see how that works too. Thanks!
Guest youataknow Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 Make sure to turn your wifi and bluetooth off when your not using them. I've noticed that with the wifi on my battery is lucky to last 4-6 hours.

If you guys want I know how to mod the registry for this so the max isnt 228MHz. If anyone is curious shoot me a PM.
