Guest Paul (MVP) Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds34627.html Anyone given it a go with a WinMo device? I assume it's a Java app? No Sky+ here (Sky + WMC) so can't test it! P
Guest toon9 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Seems there not quite ready - or have simply underestimated the volume of traffic on the server that this woudl create. I've just tried and got an error code 523, which interactive customer services have confirmed as an "ongoing problem" that they are trying to resolve. I was advised to maybe try later (whenever that is I'm not sure) when possibly the server traffic has subsided - "we are inundated at the minute" was the guys comment.
Guest toon9 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Defo a server traffic issue. I've just got this from the site when trying to register for sky by mobile - "Server Error Backend Timeout Error -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This error indicates that the backend server was slow in responding to this request. Please try again. If this problem continues, please notify the web server administrator. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------" Anyone tried the sky by mobile service on a windows PPC and/or smartphone ? The handsets aren't listed as compatible - but who knows...........
Guest toon9 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Hmmm - got through registration for Sky by mobile, but the link in the WAP push SMS returns the statement "Service is not available for your mobile device". Vario BTW Bugger !
Guest toon9 Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 More bad news me thinks. Looks like Here at SKY it states that to use remote recording, requires the sky by mobile service - which isn't windows mobile comaptible !! This would be so Kool if it worked !!
Guest peekie Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 well the state also ( at the bottom under text ) that soon there is coming soon an online guide ( which any smartphone can use on pocket ie , just make the actual tvguide page a fav ) in the end probably quicker :)
