Guest xda_gangsta Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Well, we now know who won the world cup, and I'm glad Italy won! How about that head butt by Zidane, do you all think he's as much as a disgrace as I do? What a way to end his career.
Guest pookiecheeks Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 hello all, ..for such a brilliant player as zidane is, what a complete idiot for reacting the way he did. he let his team, his country and himself down. what a total shame to end his career with a red card in the world cup final. i know mr rooney is so not in zidane's league(nor ever will be), but a comparison maybe ? another great player investigated for violent conduct ? 'pooks'
Guest mike-oh Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Yay! It's all over! The french lost! and there'll be something else on tv to watch now! Result :) oh and Zidane is a tool

Guest Madeye Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Yay! It's all over! The french lost! and there'll be something else on tv to watch now! Result :) oh and Zidane is a tool That's just about my take on the situation also! oh and Rooney is a tool
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 It is rather pathetic that the BBC felt the need to let us know that the repeat showing of an old "Only Fools & Horses" would be delayed or whatever... :) I was going to make the point that if Wayne Rooney had done that in a World Cup Final...think of the reaction...Zidane was supposedly aware of the magnitude of his appearance in this match...is he no more mature emotionally than England's boy wonder ? Congratulations to Italy. We kid ourselves in England that we're a footballing nation in the same way that they are.
Guest peekie Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Think of the plus points guys maybe at he meet we will get a bit of extra topping on the pizza and it might be hot as well :) ;)
Guest w411y Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 (edited) It is rather pathetic that the BBC felt the need to let us know that the repeat showing of an old "Only Fools & Horses" would be delayed or whatever... :) Yeh I pondered at that also but my mate then informed me it was Only Fools on Horses - some charity fund raising thing. So they probably making sure nobodye forgets about so they get more phone ins or something? Personally I'm not fond of the Italian football team but there we go. Didn't see that headbutt coming ;) Edited July 10, 2006 by w411y
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 And now life can go on and back to normal (unless you're me then what exactly is normal?)
Guest nevawlkalone Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 (edited) Sure what Zidane did was morally wrong but instead of getting sent off for a girly push etc he did it properly. Plus he won the golden ball thingy What a way to finish... (unless you're me then what exactly is normal?) Taking chunks of your leg out with a blade? Edited July 10, 2006 by nevawlkalone
Guest Pondrew Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Did it properly? If that's a joke contrasting old Rooney's sending off with Zidane's then fair enough but I don't think anyone should condone Zidane's actions. Real men can control their anger and channel it. :) I was wanting France to win until he did that...
Guest milkman1111 Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Hello guys.. I am Italian and really happy that Italy won (obviously :) ) However Zidane really did spoil the Italians winning the world cup.. epecially in the papers.... I was expecting pictures this morning in the papers of Cannavaro holding up the trophy.. however Zidane made bigger news than Italy winning....!!! That's news for you though... the more shocking the better news it is!! haha It will be interesting to find out what made him attack Matterazzi... although I must say that players are ALWAYS having words and provoking each other - unfortunately its part of the game. Forza Italia ;)
Guest nevawlkalone Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 (edited) Did it properly? If that's a joke contrasting old Rooney's sending off with Zidane's then fair enough Tiz indeed epecially in the papers.... Same over here bud, front page, back page, sports page....all zidane! ah well Edited July 10, 2006 by nevawlkalone
Guest goochy1 Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Hey everyone, A bloke from the sun on richard and judy said that they understood what the italian bloke said. He said he couldn't say on t.v as it counts as slander. He mentioned that zidane was frm the east and that was in what he said - i think - So by the sound of it he had a good reason to do it but what an end to his carear. Zidane said something first though. Just thought i'd enlighten yaz. goochy1
Guest w411y Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 ITV News has said that Materazzi said : "I slept with your mother last night ... She's an Algerian whore!" If your not familiar with Materazzi then check this... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5142970568688502787 Nice one Zidane :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Five Live is reporting the various attempts by lip-readers to work it out and it seems pretty clear that only 2 guys know the truth. It all sounds like guess-work to me so far and I think it's dangerous to allege racism unless Zidane conforms it. I've watched the video over and over and I'm pretty sure he says "Yo. Big nose !" :) ;)
Guest peekie Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 well both teams won italy won the cup and france won the best headbut :) ;)
Guest adchaffey Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Real men can control their anger and channel it. :) Zidane did channel his anger....straight through his head and into the italians chest! ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. I don't condone his actions in any way. It's just such a shame he ended his career like that. Again I'm not condoning rooney's actions, but when two players are hacking at your legs you can get frustrated and loose your mind a little. Zidane had plenty of time to consider what he was doing, and chose to drop the nut him anyway! Just unbeleivable!
Guest w411y Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Forgot to mention that on the day he supposedly said something about Zidanes mother, she had been rushed into hospital on that day. Not sure how much truth is behind all this but something must have really tickled Zidane
Guest Pondrew Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Sounds horrid... but he could have maintained his cool and directed his anger towards beating them instead of playing into their hands. As it is his behaviour instantly ruined what was a great game and marred an otherwise great performance by the French team.
Guest goochy1 Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Thats probably close to the truth. As that would completely annoy zidane and thats pretty harsh but it worked if he wanted to get zidan off the pitch and not take a penalty. goochy1
