Guest removed-2 Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Hi have an SPV C600 and have just registered for the SkyByMobile.com service so that I can get TV on my phone and also a sky planner and automatically schedule recordings from my phone. The list of supported phones doesn't include the SPV C600. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this working on the C600. I know I can use text message to schedule recordings, however I really wanted the sky planner on my phone.. Are any of the other phones using the same code/os as the C600 so that I can use that download etc..? These are the compatible handsets listed on the site:- Nokia: 6600 6630 6680 7610 N70 3230 6260 6620 6670 6681 6020 6170 6230 6280 6021 5140i 6230i 6030 6060 6101 6111 7270 7360 7370 8800 Blackberry: 7230 7730 7100v 7100x 7290 8700 Motorola: C975 E1000 V3 RAZR V600 V975 ROKR E1 SLVR L7 V360 V620 V80 E770 SonyEricsson: V600 K750i D750i W550i K600 W800i Thanks Mark
Guest p2daz Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 I have been banging my head against the wall with this one too. I have been onto sky by mobiles ' technical ' support line a few times but seem to get the same muppets on the other end. Basically if the phone isn't listed as your c600 and my sp5 on their compatible phone list they haven't got a clue and don't really want to know! I just can't accept that a windows based device whatever it may be is not included. What is more annoying is that no one seems to be able to say for definate whether it will be available either :)
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Based on that list I would say the app is either web-based or Java Try signing up from a different phone and see what it does. The chances are that they send you a link to a Java applet, which you could then copy from that phone to your C600
Guest TigerNet Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 ...think it's Vodafone only as well... Cheers Nick
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Are all networks supported? At this time, all mobile networks support connections to Sky by mobile. After registering for the service, you will be sent a WAP push message (a service message like an SMS) which contains instructions and a URL (a link) to Sky's application download page. By selecting this link (and connecting to the WAP site), the application will be automatically downloaded to your handset, and installed. Please note that some Blackberry handsets may not receive the WAP push message correctly. In this case, using your WAP browser, go to mobile.sky.com/skyapp/skyapp.asp and download the application. If this has not answered your question please call us on +44 (0)870 609 2839 (national rates apply) http://www.sky.com/skybymobile/faqs
Guest chucky.egg Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) I've called them to see if there's some way around the "Service is not available for your mobile device" issue Apparently they're having problems with the installation anyway today, so suggets waiting til tomorrow, but if you go to Sky.com and sign in you can download it through there. Guest p2daz Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Nope, tried everything, got it working ok on the wifes shitty pink razr though! I had to chuckle though that Sky.com are a sponsored link on this site - quite ironic really.
