CoolCamera....dodgy?

Are you a Firefox user? Has Firefox started crashing for no apparant reason lately? Have you installed CoolCamera 1.13b2 recently? If so, uninstall it!

Now, I have no idea why a camera app for WM devices would cause a Windows internet browser to crash but it has been for me. I paid no attention to it at first thinking it was just something I'd messed up whilst fiddling but when I actually looked at the cause of the crash, I noticed that it was actually CoolCamera. More specifically, Firefox reported that "coolcamera.ax" had caused the crash but it only crashed when opening my blog <_>

Well its not just firefox that crashes on your site , ie does it as well and yes i had coolcmaera on my laptop, its only your site that crashes , wierd :)

Remember CoolCamera installs a PC side webcam driver, maybe that is conflicting in some way.

My advice, drop a quick mail to ateksoft :)

Quickfix

1) do a search for coolcamera.ax in explorer

2) once you've found the file go start->run

3) type the following in the run box:

regsvr32 /u

4) drag and drop coolcamera.ax into the run box and hit enter

This will disable it as a webcam but will at least stop the crashes

I too have had problem with cool camera on my Mcd compact II/ htc charmer - for some reason there seems to be a problem with the exposure, and even outside, in the midday sun, all the pictures come out pitch black.

This does not happen on the regular camera application - help!
